EducationUSA’s mission is to provide free impartial, comprehensive and up-to-date information on the academic programs offered by all accredited institutions of higher education in the United States.

About us

EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of more than 430 international student advising centers in 178 countries and territories. The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by providing accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date information about opportunities to study at accredited institutions of higher education in the United States.

EducationUSA also provides services to the U.S. higher education community, helping these institutions comply with the U.S. Higher Education Standards. EducationUSA also provides services to the U.S. higher education community, helping these institutions meet their recruitment and internationalization goals. EducationUSA is the official source for U.S. higher education.

Goals

EducationUSA serves international students

Each year, EducationUSA counselors respond to millions of inquiries from international students. Advisors offer a wide range of in-person and virtual services to students and their families based on “The 5 Steps to Study in the U.S.,” a guide to navigating the U.S. higher education application process.

Through the EducationUSA program, we support the international student recruitment and internationalization efforts of all accredited U.S. institutions of higher education:

EducationUSA is committed to working with the full range of institutions, organizations and individuals that provide opportunities for qualified international students to study in the United States. This includes agents identified by accredited U.S. institutions of higher education as their overseas representatives.

EducationUSA content and other relevant resources, including the annual Global Guide publication, Student Mobility Facts and Figures fact sheets, and the EducationUSA website, are available to the public, including agents.

EducationUSA Advisors are responsible for administering and providing counseling services about study opportunities in the United States.
